The Big 58! Inching towards the 60's

Well guess who celebrated a birthday this week?

This Girl!

Yep, me...me with that cheesy grin. Can you believe I'm 58 years old? It's hard for me to believe, in my mind I'm still in my early 30's, sometimes in my mind I'm still 18...but trust me, my body knows it's nearing 60! Those aches and pain remind me every day!

But it was a great birthday this year. It started out with a hug and birthday greetings from my mom who couldn't wait to give me my birthday gifts. She knows me so well and knows what I love!

A beautiful butterfly necklace and purse. I just love them! Thanks mom, you're the best and I love you!

Then I get to the office and my co-worker has all kinds of surprises for me. You can see in the first picture with the cheesy grin, all kinds of goodies! Starbucks coffee, my favorite, a beautiful blue creamer, sugar bowl and bowl that I love and she even made a special Lemon Cream Pie for me...low-carb!

Here's a close up of the dishware, I love them and her! Thank you Angelica! You're the best!

Later in the day I received this beautiful floral arrangement from my employers!

My wonderful sister Lisa put together a "girls" birthday celebration after work where family and friends got together to help me celebrate. With Margaritas, balloons, laughter and fun we had a great time!

It was a fun day and all the festivity made me feel like a kid again! Thank you all for sharing in this special day with me!

  2. Congratulations! They say the 58 today is the 38 of your grandmother's era.
Anyway, you don't look more, and I'm sure, that despite the aches, you don't feel older than 38.

The butterfly necklace and the matching purse are a lovely gift (your mother has great taste, and huge love for you). As for the blue set- blue , the color, brings luck, so it's a very appropriate gift. Your sister , Lisa, is the greatest gift of all with her efforts to make this a special day for you and involving in it your best girl friends.
The low carb lemon pie gives the right, festive touch to the party.

Happy belated Birthday to you, and many, many happy returns of the day!

  3. Happy birthday Alicia. 58 is a good number. I am 66 now. Where did those years go? Looks like a great party, with margaritas and the sombrero...My kind of celebration! Our readers would love to see how you celebrated your 58th birthday at our link party, Dishing It & Digging it. The party went live yesterday. Here's to many more birthdays.

  5. DUTA - Thank you! I really do try to take care of myself but sometimes those aches and pains really do make me realize that I'm getting older, but exercise and a good diet really help. I threw all caution to with wind at the party in the evening and had the margaritas and chips and salsa, but that's it, back to being low carb!

Yes, mom definitely has great taste and she knows me better than anyone else. Thank you so much for the birthday greetings. I actually started the post on my actual birthday but the day got away from me and I didn't have time to post it until the weekend. Back to the real world today! Have a great week!
