We feel we are short changing our family when we are at work and when we are at home we worried about projects, deadlines and clients at the office. Next time I'm coming back as a puppy so I won't have any worries :)Aliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18196096131750922174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4567723504977931374.post-17986859546462818652013-02-13T19:34:01.549-08:002013-02-13T19:34:01.549-08:00I knew it was a bit confusing. So I wrote a different post, the one I posted above.

I called it "Is the grass always greener on the other side" because women who stay home think working women have it better and women who work would rather stay home. Is the grass greener or should we just be happy in out little patch of grass regardless of the color of it and maybe just water it more?

In the book the older lady felt that her pain was worse because she lost her husband after 50 years of marriage and the author of the book would have loved to have those 50 years. Which pain is greater?

I do love the quote though.Aliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18196096131750922174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4567723504977931374.post-88010730859623439012013-02-13T18:13:37.018-08:002013-02-13T18:13:37.018-08:00I worked full time before my kids, and now I'm...I worked full time before my kids, and now I'm a stay at home mom. It's very easy to miss those days when I could have fun with co-workers, go out to lunch, and go to the bathroom without someone opening the door. But I also see how it would be so stressful to pack "everything" into the nights and weekends and miss all of those little things the kids say and do when they're little. I think that it is all human beings who are hard to please. The grass is always greener/we always want what we don't have. :)Bayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12753983720078029954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4567723504977931374.post-54030161370383002382013-02-13T17:12:05.497-08:002013-02-13T17:12:05.497-08:00What an ass I am. Yes, not liability but hurting someones heart and memories. But thanks for the advice :)Aliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18196096131750922174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4567723504977931374.post-55894209506505837482013-02-13T12:42:00.954-08:002013-02-13T12:42:00.954-08:00Exactly! And not to bash stay at home moms, but I see on pinterest sometimes criticism of working moms because we get weekends off and breaks at work...but they have to remember that once we get home we have to do in a few hours what they had all day to do! But still as women we need to stick together and not be critical of each other for the choice we make. My memoir will soon be published and I was concerned about things I said about some folks still living so I got a book on liability in writing. You're fine if you give them a pseudonym but maybe your concerns are more than liability. There's such truth in what you say about the tension between women who stay home and those who go out to work. In a perfect world we'd all be able to do exactly what works best for us and our families. I bet a lot of women would choose to stay home while the children are young and then go to work outside the home later on. If only we could have a society that agreed with that plan!Pondsidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02407539138546412482noreply@blogger.com
