People are not fully aware of this, and so when they decide to move to another place the climate of that place is usually not on the top of their agenda.

Anyway, feel better soon, Alicia!DUTAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12979375799258978432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4567723504977931374.post-9046951657510626012011-11-17T16:19:34.176-08:002011-11-17T16:19:34.176-08:00Oh a white Christmas is great, its just the white ...Oh a white Christmas is great, its just the white November, thru mid April that sucks. We don't get that every year but several years ago we had snow on the ground from a few days before Halloween until the third week in April.Sextanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02869179401767968180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4567723504977931374.post-90937756207493486342011-11-17T15:15:28.047-08:002011-11-17T15:15:28.047-08:00I just checked and it's 64 degress right now. ...I just checked and it's 64 degress right now. Not too bad I guess. I don't know if I could function with your weather temperatures and I KNOW I couldn't with the ones that Bussman has to deal with.

It's funny when I watch movies on TV of white Christmas's it all looks great...on TV, but not sure it would be my cup of tea. Of course beind an Arizona girl born and raised, snow and cold weather just aren't in my genes.Aliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18196096131750922174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4567723504977931374.post-56790614409519109412011-11-17T13:47:50.066-08:002011-11-17T13:47:50.066-08:00Ah 57 degrees, poor baby! Try highs of 9 degrees, lows in the minus digits, and two weeks of nonstop lake effect snow, then a storm coming up the coast and dumping 27 inches of snow on you. Yeah it sucks. Of course anytime either one of us feel bad about the weather, we can talk to my buddy Bussman up in Manitoba. They already have snow.

Sucks indeed, but on the other hand, we don't have earthquakes, Santa Anna winds fanning state wide fires, 7 years of drought, followed by 3 months of endless rain resulting in mud slides after the fires burnt everything off the hills. Its all relative.

Well I have been married for 34 years and I still hate New Years, but yeah I imagine it really sucks when you are single. It always meant the end of the holidays and back to school or work, or sometimes both. The only good thing I can say about it, since I have been with my wife I don't have an hangover anymore on News Years Day. Being retired now, who knows, maybe I'll like it this year.Sextanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02869179401767968180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4567723504977931374.post-52528969592804125182011-11-17T13:04:49.918-08:002011-11-17T13:04:49.918-08:00Sextant - Well...since you have your tree up until...Sextant - Well...since you have your tree up until April anyway, why not move Christmas to April and then you can keep your tree up all winter and avoid SAD?

It's just that during this time there is so much to do and we have to do it all while being sick and fighting the bad weather.

Now I know you wouldn't think California has bad weather, but when you're used to 98 degree days and you have to deal with winter weather of 57 degrees...it does seem cold to us Cali's.

I have to do Thanksgiving shopping and Christmas shopping and putting up Christmas lights outside on my house and right now I just want to crawl in bed with a bottle of Nyquil. I know...this Californian is a bit whiny :-(

I am with you in just doing away with New Years Eve altogether. Thanksgiving you can move and New Years you can just cancel altogether. But Christmas? Nope, it has to stay where it is. The reason is that the Christmas Tree fights against Season Affective Disorder. I can't live in crappy ass Pittsburgh through winter without my Christmas Tree. We leave it up until April! Best thing in the world for the winter blues.

Hope you get better soon.Sextanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02869179401767968180noreply@blogger.com
