Books Read in 2012

I've been keeping track of the books that I've read each year on my blog. In 2009 and 2010 I read 24 books each year. In 2011 I read 29 books. For 2012 I set a goal of 30 books but unfortunately didn't reach my goal as I only read 26! I was so close! The cool thing is that I've started keeping track by using Goodreads.

By using Goodreads I can keep track of what books I've read, what books I want to read and I can review the books I've read and read reviews of the books I want to read that other readers have already read. Wow...that sounds like a tongue twister!

And another thing I love about Goodreads is that I don't have to go search for all the book covers...they save them for me! Gotta love that. Here's the first 20 I read. Of these twenty the book Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn is my favorite, but the book and the movie The Help are a close second.

Here's the rest of the books...

So my goal for 2013 is to try to reach the goal that I didn't reach in 2012...30 books. Can I do it? I think I can. Maybe if I turn the TV off a little more often and reach for a book I'll make it!

What's your goal for 2013?

  1. It's impressive that you were able to read 26 books in 2012. I really want to read Gone Girl. I'm going to wait until it's in paperback and enjoy it then.

    1. It's a great book Paula. I would tell you I would send you my copy but I don't remember who I loaned it to last! I guess I will just have to wait til that person returns it. The beginning is a little slow but it captures you quickly!

  2. Impressive! Especially when we remember that not only do you work full time but you did extensive home remodeling in 2012.

I had a vague notion of reading one book a week in 2013, but I tend to avoid resolutions or goals as I never live up to them.

Gone Girl was probably my favorite although there was one serious logical error in the book that didn't hold up.

  3. Thank you for noticing! I am quite impressive :) I try to read at least an hour before going to sleep and that's usually what puts me to sleep.

I too don't make resolutions but setting goals I think is a good thing. At least it gives you something to strive for.

What didn't you like about Gone Girl?

    1. Didn't want to say here because it is a spoiler. Sent it to you in a PM on Goodreads.

  4. Audra, Theres's nothing like reading a book-book. I too love the tangible experience of holding a book and turning a page and using my favorite bookmarker. Now you've made me wonder which eight we read...lol.
